A Solar-Powered Tesla

It wasn’t long after that I decided that my next vehicle would (at a minimum) be a plug-in hybrid, if not fully electric. In 2013, I started following Tesla with great interest and decided I would eventually own their mass market model. I had no intent on buying a Model S, because it was more than I’d ever wanted to spend on a car.

Going All Electric

In early 2014, I decided to take a Model S “fan drive” to get the full experience behind the wheel, with no intent to purchase. I was smitten. I fought long and hard with myself to wait for the mass market Tesla, but ultimately I succumbed. In June 2014, I purchased a Model S and never looked back.

To achieve true emissions-free transport, an electric vehicle could be charged from a clean energy source with zero emissions. Installing a residential solar system is arguably the easiest and most effective approach toward ensuring a clean energy source for an electric vehicle.
